Available equipment

Expo maintains a big top camp first aid kit for plateau injuries
and minor caving damage. It is not designed/intended to go
underground. Plateau falls are actually the biggest risk on expo -
the limestone is sharp and sometimes slippery, the rucksacks are
enormous and heavy. Small personal kits for underground use are also a
good idea, as is a bivi bag or bothy in case of getting stuck for any
reason (as it's damn cold).

There is a rescue grab bag containing underground 1st aid stuff and
brew kit/shelter.

At base camp is more first aid stuff for both replenishment and other
injuries.

Training

There is a caving first aid training session help each year before
expo. Here are the slides from the
current course (written by Cat Hulse) which provide a lot of good info.
