<p>The second pitch of 1623/87 starts as a small hole following a
steeply dipping roof tube where the floor of the entrance chamber is
almost choked by boulders.
<p>Nick Thorne is seen here emerging from the
tube into the chamber having passed the main takeoff bolt which is
a short way below his feet.<br clear=all>
