One advantage of basecamp at the Gasthof Staud'n'wirt is the river (Grundlseer Traun) which is not only a cool festering spot and excellent swimming location, but also provides us with some turbulence from a weir which is an ideal place for washing ropes and other gear at the end of each expedition. This only becomes desperate if the river is in high flood, when standing anywhere near the edge of the weir becomes very dodgy indeed !
