The Squeeze (aka Beer Belly Blues) was the major obstacle to all serious exploration until bypassed first by Dreamtime in 1990 (for the Right Hand Route) and then by S'not/Dewdrop in 1991. The photo shows Mark Fearon having a hard time before either bypass was found. As well as being a major headache for a rescue, the squeeze was also the cause of two in 1989. The Pitch below it is known as "Becka Falls" as a result of the first.
