Right (downhill) is the route to the rest of the cave. In this direction, a hole in the floor is passed [QM 06-14 C], before a much larger hole right across the passage is reached. A rope belayed to bolts on the left side of the passage enables a descent to be made to a point where it is possible to climb down, behind and around a rock pillar to complete the crossing of the hole. There is a passage leading back under the pitch at this point [QM 06-15 C]. A passage to the left leads to Apfelstrudel and Oompah.

After the hole, a sloping traverse is crossed; water enters from the roof here. At the start of the traverse, a steep ramp on the right accesses Boulder Surfer that ultimately leads to Ducks on Ice and Stone Monkey. From here a long ramp downwards, protected by a rope belayed to a large thread over towards the left, enables a descent towards the right wall to reach the traverse of Caramel Catharsis. On the left two passages are passed leading to Apfelstrudel and Oompah. The traverse follows the right wall, still sloping down and passing a hole in that wall that leads to Stone Monkey). Beyond are two unexplored passages on the right ([QM 07-07 C] and [QM 07-08 B] - the second of these draughts strongly) followed by a pitch of a few metres that lands on a sandy floor in an impressive chamber.

On exiting Strudel crawl, left leads past an alternative exit from Strudel crawl with a hole in the floor [QM 06-40 C]. The passage heads uphill passing the entrance to Alphabet Soup on the right after 8m [THIS BIT DESCRIBED WITH ALPHABET SOUP]. After a further 30m the main passage ends in a boulder choke. A draughting passage on the right here leads to Sauerkraut.

Stone Monkey
A draughting hole part way along the Caramel Catharsis traverse becomes a walking-sized passage heading steeply uphill to the east. [HOLE ON LEFT BY STATION 2 - WHAT DOES THIS DO? NOTES IMPLY "SMALL PHREAS" - QM OR TOO TIGHT?]. After 25m, keep left for the way on - two tubes on the right are too tight. The passage continues, past two crawls on the right [QM 07-01 C] [QM 07-02 C], for 35m to a junction. Left (north) leads to a sloping chamber with a phreatic tube leading off [QM 07-100 C]. Straight ahead (east) is the way on.
A draughting hole part way along the Caramel Catharsis traverse becomes a walking-sized phreatic passage heading steeply uphill to the east. In places the floor is covered with rocks, elsewhere the passage is steep enough that there is bedrock as any rocks fall off. As stone monkey ascends it splits into parallel passages that then rejoin, going past two crawls on the right [QM 07-01 C] [QM 07-02 C]. After 50m a large window to the left contains a 5m climb down to a boulder floor and a possibly choked passage, with solution pockets in the roof.
Continuing straight ahead is a fork. The left fork leads to a 2m climb down to two successive 5m pitches [UNDESCENDED? NO QM].
A little futher a crawl goes off to the left to a chamber, with a 2m climb down to the top a a small rift. [?16#37-3c tight pitch head with a ~5m drop to the floor of a rift]. There is an aven above the chamber that connects back into stone monkey.
The right fork is the main way on, and leads past a roof tube on the right [QM 07-03 C] to a junction. Right (south) is the connection to Boulder Surfer, the bottom of the Ducks on Ice route into the cave. Left (north) are a number of QMs. Working round the left hand wall from the point of entry is a climb to twin phreatic passages - the first of which is 2x1m [QM 07-17 A], the neighbouring passage is more of a tube [QM 0764-1 B]; a 4/5m climb down with a continuation [QM 07-16 B]; and a possible passage high in the roof [QM 07-15 B]. [TUNNEL SHOWS A FURTHER WAY ON TO EAST, NOT MARKED AS QM - DOES THIS EXIST?]
Continuing up stone monkey, leads past a roof tube on the right [QM 07-03 C] to a widening. To the right (south) is the connection to Boulder Surfer, the bottom of the Ducks on Ice route into the cave. Left (north) are a number of QMs. Working round the left hand wall from the point of entry is a 2m climb to the aven of the previous chamber and a phreatic tube [QM 07-16 B]; there is a 4m climb down a small tube to a chamber. Water enters the chamber from a wet 5m high aven [?16#37-1X 5m tall wet aven] and a hole in the floow goes down 3m past some ice to a choke.
The main way on is straight ahead (south east). The passage continues in similar fashion for 35m to a 4m climb up followed immediately by a 5m climb down. There are a few leads on this stretch of passage: a phreatic tube in the north wall of the passage [QM 07-14 C]; two rifts in the south wall [QM 07-12 C] [QM 0758-1 C] [POSSIBLE DUPLICATE OF QM 08-06]; a passage heading south 12m up in the south wall [QM 08-06 B]; and an aven above [QM 07-10 X].
At the widening, the main way on is straight ahead (south east) though a low upward crawl that was originally accessed by extracting rocks, which then fell a long way back down stone monkey. This area is still fairly unstable. The crawl pops out though a a bit of a squeeze into a large chamber. To the right in the chamber there is a descending preatic passage with chunky chrinoid fossils. Just before this passage becomes too tight a small low hole in the wall to the left leads to a short pitch of about 4m [?16#37-2B short pitch to a passage below]. Back in the chamber the right/south wall there is a nasty rift [QM 0758-1 C] and a passage heading south 12m up the wall [QM 08-06 B]. In the chamber to the left there is a phreatic tube in the north wall of the passage [QM 07-14 C] and an aven above [QM 07-10 X]. At the top of the chamber is a 4m climb up followed immediately by a 5m climb down to the continuation of stone monkey.
