Cave description:
End of POV:
Next pitchhead is very tight and awkward. Traverse out till round corner.
Climb into slot down 1m then along another metre to bit wide enough to
descend. Pitch is 10m to larger floor. Against back wall a damp 5m descent
is possible to where watter disappears into slot. At rope 6m further decent
is possible. Very tight and grabby at the top - major PITA on return.
UNfortunately at this level pith series finally does become unquestionably
too tight.
QM? (over far side at top of Eiscream pitches):
Swing over from 3m below window. Large thread for rigging. Climb over thread
into rift, which descends 10m past a couple of narrowings 5m more rift can
be seen but is too tight to reach the floor. Water can be heard at the NW
end but again it's too tight to get to it.
South Utsira:
>From the T junction in North utsira you can turn right and climb up the steep
passage 20m. At the top a narrow tube goes up (05C). there is a window into
a aven and above it a 4m chimney which appears to connect with the passage
leading off from the topof the aven (04C). A passage leads round tothe left
to emerge on a bridge between two avens. You can climb up to the L over a
large chocked boulder and thus into a passage 7m up the western aven. 03X is
the top of this aven.

Traungold cave description
Entrance A leads to daylight chamber, down an awkward climb, whilst ent B is
a snow and boulder slope to the same chamber. To the right leads to another
chamber, with an upward slope about 3m up, which leads to ent h. Continuing
on stooping passage leads to a climb up to under steinbrucken ent efg (A
crawl at ground level between A & B leads to 'Ask dunks' (ent D)).
To the left the largest chamber is reached by a 3m climb down. From here
around to the left leads to entrance shaft C. A passage leads off this that
is walking height leading to climbs up over boulders with a loose ceiling
above. This leads to a T junction, which ends in boulders to the right and a
short climb to a dead end to the left (ask SiF ad SiL for more detail if
required).
To the right in the largest chamber, a wide low short passage leads to an
ice-floored chamber. Crawling passage then leads to the deepest chmber,
which has an ice flow into and down the chamber. At the opposite end of the
chamber a 3m climb is reached, which has a spit at the top, 'ask dunks'.

Eventually arrived atTop Camp nd proceeded to 204. Nearly at 204, Martin

had anothr accident with the again. Earl + Mark took a detour to find a

quicker route from the slabs to 204, but ended up just finding

Gemknödelhöhle [ed.: Germ...?], to the west of 204 by a few
hundred metres. A low entrance leads to a couple of chambers of a climb to
a higher entrance. Eventually Mark + Earl got to 204 (after investigating a

hole with a choke and a skeleton - chamois??). Set up some water-collecting

stooping. Had to turn back (after 5 hours surveying) to reach call-out

rigging a hand-line (needs ~16 metres) + got down to the floor, avoiding

the pitch. He could scramble up a boulder slope the far side of the pitch +

said there was another pitch with passage continuing the other side,

needing bolting around the pith to gte to. We'd run out of rope, so headed

free-climb down to get shortcut back to Treeumphant via the QM28A. Did more

not v.exciting pitch whilst Martin + I surveyed. We realised that 42B
