<p>This used to be very complicated, see <a href="old_make_essentials.html">old make_essentials scripts</a>.
<p>From 2025 we use the script <var>:loser:/gpx/essentials/do_essentials.sh</var> which is run from the folder <var>:loser:/</var> with the command <var>gpx/essentials/do_essentials2025.sh</var>. This produces two files:

<li><var>essentials2025.gpx</var> - which contains about 10 key locations and the tracks between them: the car park, StoneBridge top camp, 161g entrance etc. Everyone should load this into OSMand on their phone before they go walking on the plateau.
<li><var>prospecting2025.gpx</var> - which contains everything in essentials2025.gpx plus all the entrances of all the caves plus the line (as a 'track') which is the border around the 1623 and 1626 kataster areas. This is so that a prospector can tell which area they are in.

Both these caves are manually copied to <a href="/expofiles/gpslogs/essentials/"><var>expofiles/gpslogs/essentials/</var></a> so that they can be downloaded more easily to a phone.
<p>The script uses the file troggle_import_root.3d which is generated every time there is a database reset on the server, so the process only includes entrances which have been created and properly located before the last database reset.
