<h1>Expo 2005: Surface work hitlist</h1>
<p>This is essentially a QM list for surface work, combined with a
documentation to-do list, intended to record things that need exploring or
surveying outside our main target caves. This list is maintained by Dave, as
kataster administrator.</p>

<li>Not to be outdone, Earl and Becka went for a walk with Martin's GPS in 2003
and found eight more holes which promptly got forgotten about. At least they

<ul>
<li><a href="../../smkridge/2001-03/2001-03.html">2001-03</a>: this has
apparently been explored but there are no records of whether it goes or not;
and it is promisingly placed above the Colonnade in 204.</li>
<li>The Quarries (<a href="../../smkridge/2002-07/2002-07.html">2002-07</a>, <a

href="../../smkridge/2002-XX/2002-XX.html">2002-XX</a>): revisit in
consultation with Frank and determine if they go anywhere, and if there is a
link to 204c (as has been suggested).</li>
<li>Huge bag of caves 2003-X11 to 2003-X18 GPSsed by Earl + Becka in 2003 and
promptly forgotten about; need re-finding, marking, and surveying where
appropriate (they vary from the done to the completely undescended).</p>
2005-05-07 15:54:54 +01:00
<li>161G + H: currently numbered as 2003-06 and 2004-12 respectively; to be
tagged with new numbers.</li>

<li>The rest of Earl + Becka's 2003-Xnn caves, at least two of which probably
need a proper survey, and all of them need to be re-found and re-marked.</li>

<h3>Stuff near 76</h3>
<p>I know nothing about this beyond what is in last year's logbook; apparently,
owing to Olly's GPS rather usefully forgetting all the coordinates, a bunch of
caves found in 2004 (2004-01 to 2004-09 inclusive) need refinding, along with
several older caves such as 108 and Tantalus Schacht.</p>
2005-05-21 16:42:49 +01:00
<p>(Actually the logbook only explicitly mentions 2004 caves 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9,
but 1, 3, 4 and 8 presumably exist as well &mdash; ?)</p>

<h3>Other areas</h3>
<ul>
<li>Re-finding, re-photographing and generally improving documentation for
caves in the vicinity of Eish&ouml;hle &ndash; various caves need retagging
(see <a href="../2004/kataster2004.html">here</a>), and 2001-06 to 2001-12 have
no location data at all.</li>
2005-05-21 16:41:04 +01:00
<li>Sort out confusion over <a href="../../smkridge/157.htm">157</a>, <a
href="../../smkridge/bogen.html">Bogenh&ouml;hle</a> and other caves near laser
point 0/5. (Can easily be done en route to 204, or a few minutes walk from 76
bivvy.)</li>
2005-05-21 16:41:04 +01:00
<li>Retag <a href="../../plateau/2000-aa-01.html">2000-AA-01</a> (middle
plateau 200m north of Top Camp) with proper kataster number when this has been
allocated.</li>
<li>Survey <a href="../../plateau/171.htm">171</a>, which is near 2000-AA-01,
and is apparently quite long (&gt;100m) although not very deep.</li>
<li>Wander round Kratzer valley with a tagging kit and a decent modern GPS, in
the hope of relocating <a href="../../kratzer/71.htm">71</a>
(Fledermaush&ouml;hle), which is quite a substantial cave (347m long, 95m deep
&ndash; by far the biggest of the Kratzer caves). It was surveyed in some
detail way back in 1976 but no surface survey was made so we don't know where
it is.</li>
<li><a href="../../plateau/1996_05.html">1996-05</a>. This is some way to the
west of 204, in the large empty gap of northern plateau north of the usual
limit of prospecting from old Top Camp and west of the SMK ridge, and is a
substantial undescended shaft; time could profitably be spent looking for holes
in the surrounding area, which is largely virgin territory.</li>
